Social Development Programme:

The main emphasis of SDP is to encourage communities to rely on their own abilities and resources, with the view of encouraging long-term development and sustainability. This ensures empowerment at the grass roots level and involves the community as an important stakeholder. Under the programme, financial assistance is given to local NGOs, CBOs, religious bodies and groups to enable them to undertake their community development plans by way of various grants and aid in kind. Currently SDP focuses on areas such as education, violence against women, economic and social empowerment of women and food security.
