Emergency Resource Centre

ERC was set up in 2004 with the mandate to enhance the capacity of various stakeholders of civil society to respond to natural hazards and man made disasters proactively and reactively.

On behalf of CWS-P/A, ERC has been actively involved in coordination efforts with other international humanitarian agencies in response to natural disasters and emergencies in Pakistan. ERC regularly disseminates alerts and information to all stakeholders in the wake of any disaster. A small mapping section has also been set up which is gradually building expertise in producing relevant and useful maps. ERC also maintains a library containing books on disaster management and other social issues. We have a database of news clippings on October 2005 earthquake and Afghanistan. ERC provides support to other programme units for base line surveys, research and documentation.
